We've gone from political intrigue, to survival horror, and now to erotic thriller.
But throughout its different incarnations, it still remains an action-packed space opera series at its core featuring a kickass heroine and a gripping storyline. I invite you to check out my latest interview with Sister Sinister about Rogue Hunter. It sheds light on the development of the Life Force and what's coming up next for the series. And when you're done, don't forget to grab a copy of Life Force.

<![CDATA[Life Force is Live]]>Wed, 19 Feb 2014 17:45:14 GMThttp://kevishendrickson.weebly.com/whats-new/life-force-is-live
The newest adventure in the Rogue Hunter series, Life Force, is now live and ready for readers.
You can find ebook versions of Life Force at your favorite online ebook store. The paperback version of Life Force is still in the works and should arrive at online retailers by the end of the month.

I want to thank everyone who helped Life Force to see the light of day: from my editors, to advance readers, and my designer. Everyone played a special role in making this book what it is. It was a mad dash to get it finished by the deadline, but all of the hard work paid off.

Whether you're a long-time Rogue Hunter fan or new to the series, I welcome you all to download your copy of Life Force by heading over to our Feature Page. Enjoy the new book. This one's intense.
<![CDATA[The Return of Zyra]]>Tue, 10 Dec 2013 18:59:01 GMThttp://kevishendrickson.weebly.com/whats-new/the-return-of-zyraNo doubt many of you who followed Rogue Hunter through its infancy know that the reboot introduced us to a slightly different Zyra. The younger, more badass version of Zyra is more enigmatic than her former self. She's colder, more detached and unfeeling than we knew her to be, which only makes her more mysterious. Zyra's every bit as contemplative as before, but she's definitely what you and I would call "unfriendly".
I had an interesting conversation with a reader shortly after the publication of Inquest who told me quite bluntly that she missed the old Zyra. I tried to calm her fears by promising her that although Zyra has been updated to reflect the new story line, that over time, she would evolve into her old personality. Well, I'm happy to say that that time has finally come. In the upcoming third book, there is actually a key scene where Zyra snaps and starts to exhibit the first signs of what you'll recognize as her old personality. It's a very subtle, but interesting moment in the story and I'm sure many of you will notice exactly when it happens.

I was quite excited to write that scene, knowing that from here on out, more of Zyra's familiar traits, such as her trademark ire and laugh-in-the-face-of-danger attitude, will emerge. I can honestly say that the series is becoming more fun as Zyra continues to morph into her old "lovable" self.

Life Force, the next installment of the Rogue Hunter series, makes its debut next year. Look out for it!

<![CDATA[Rogue Hunter Book #3 Official Title and Release Date.]]>Wed, 20 Nov 2013 19:04:50 GMThttp://kevishendrickson.weebly.com/whats-new/rogue-hunter-book-3-official-title-and-release-dateIt's with great pleasure to report that I'm nearly done writing the third book of the Rogue Hunter series. The writing was fast and furious with this one, and I've lost count of the many nights I've gone without sleep to keep up my frantic pace. But the upside is it's allowed me to get far enough to settle on a title. So without further ado, let me proudly introduce you to the follow up novel to Dark Space.
The newest installment of Rogue Hunter is called Life Force. Like its predecessors, Life Force further explores the vast and dangerous world of Zyra Zanr and guides us through her many adventures. However, Life Force takes the series in a slightly new direction by giving us a very intimate and unfiltered look at Zyra and one of the most significant ways how being a bounty hunter affects her, in particular, her love life. There's all of the usual helter skelter and frantic action that's signature of the series (this one has some real baddies making their debut), but the heat level will definitely be turned up for this installment of Rogue Hunter.

As it goes, I've been having a blast writing Life Force, and as much as I'd like to think I know Zyra, her wild side is actually much wilder than I thought (can't remember the last time I took so many cold showers!). Since Zyra is always on the move and trying to stay one step of ahead of her enemies in order to survive, exploring her romantic life has been next to impossible so far. Well, it turns out even Zyra can find time for a little romance every now and then. Life Force is definitely a real "page burner". Get ready to see a side of Zyra you haven't seen before...

As this book allows me to push the boundaries of my writing to another level, I'm really looking forward to sharing this one with everyone. So I'll keep tirelessly plodding away until release day. Speaking of which, expect Life Force to make its debut, and appropriately, I might add, on Valentine's Day next year (02/14/14). Until then, I'll keep everyone posted on further developments of the series.

<![CDATA[50 Shades of Rogue Hunter?]]>Wed, 13 Nov 2013 19:46:41 GMThttp://kevishendrickson.weebly.com/whats-new/50-shades-of-rogue-hunterOver the last couple of months, I've mentioned that some big surprises were on the way for Rogue Hunter. The title for Book III is still under wraps for now. But I think it's safe to let the cat out of the bag (I love wordplay) regarding its content. The new Rogue Hunter novel is definitely going where no other Rogue Hunter book has gone before (see?).
Anyone who has read my updates on this site knows that Rogue Hunter's reboot was going to inject some very interesting subject matter into the series. Starting with Inquest, we were introduced to a much grittier world than we'd seen before with a dose of sensuality for good measure. Dark Space was ripe with a cast of true-to-life characters that blurred the line between good and evil. It went so far as to make some of us root for the villains, even though we knew our loyalties lied with our beloved Zyra and wanted her to come out on top. With the arrival of Book III, the heat is going to be turned up once again (I just can't help myself).

I've made a conscious decision to take the filter off of the lens for the next Rogue Hunter novel to not only increase the intensity of the series, but to make sure that going forward, readers know to expect the unexpected (you probably knew I was going to say that).

Since I haven't released the official title yet, I jokingly refer to Book III as "50 Shades of Rogue Hunter". Yes, we're finally going to see Zyra get in touch with her feminine side with scenes that will probably make E.L. James blush. Before I scare some of you away thinking that I've totally lost my mind, this is Rogue Hunter we're talking about. So look for Book III to give you the same gritty action and adventure that you've come to expect from Rogue Hunter. Just expect a little more spice in this one (okay, maybe a lot more)
. In fact, this is the book that kicks off the main story line for the series. Zyra's mysterious past is about to come to the forefront of the series, and the revelations will be earth-shattering. So you don't want to miss Book III.

Look out for the next update when I'll announce the title and release date for Book III. I'm anxious to get this one to readers, so it's time for me to get back to the lab.

<![CDATA[Book III is on the way.]]>Thu, 07 Nov 2013 17:24:49 GMThttp://kevishendrickson.weebly.com/whats-new/book-iii-is-on-the-wayWe're officially in the Holiday season and it's a great time of the year for festive-minded readers out there. Lots of new books and ereaders will be arriving in the stockings of some very lucky people next month. I'll be running some promotions to get some free merchandise to fans of Rogue Hunter.
Speaking of Rogue Hunter, next year should be a really big one for the series. There are several new books on the way. If all goes according to plan, I expect to have the next installment of Rogue Hunter ready for Winter 2014. I'll release the official title and date in a few days. For now, all I can say is you won't believe what's coming down the pipeline!
<![CDATA[Rogue Hunter Adventures]]>Fri, 01 Nov 2013 14:00:58 GMThttp://kevishendrickson.weebly.com/whats-new/rogue-hunter-adventuresI'm happy to announce that I'm making great progress on the third Rogue Hunter novel. This one's got a lot going on with the plot (in very unexpected ways), so it's going to be great to see how it's received by readers. I'll reveal the title for Book Three once it's been finalized. But in the meantime, I've got other great news to tell.
A few years back I mentioned on this site that it would take some time to get the novels released. I also hinted that I'd be enlisting the aid of some wonderful authors to expand the Rogue Hunter universe while I work my way through the core storyline. Next year, will be the break out year for Rogue Hunter with a slew of new books written by several authors. I won't disclose the details yet, but look out for news on the upcoming Rogue Hunter Adventures.
<![CDATA[New Ratings Guideline]]>Mon, 28 Oct 2013 20:37:05 GMThttp://kevishendrickson.weebly.com/whats-new/new-ratings-guidelineOne of the most widespread practices in the entertainment industry is the use of age appropriate guidelines to help people understand what kind of media content they are consuming. Parents especially need these ratings to navigate a very complex ecosystem of multimedia content that ranges from Bambi to anything goes.
Movies, Music, and Video Games all use age appropriate guidelines. Interestingly enough, the publishing industry is one of the few that doesn't use this feature and leaves it up to book reviewers, librarians, and readers to figure it out on their own. I perfectly understand why it hasn't been adopted for books, but wonder if it wouldn't be helpful in assisting readers to select from my own work.

Until the reboot of Rogue Hunter, I had no use for an age guidelines system since what I wrote to that point was for general audiences. However, my recent faster and louder approach to writing books has shaken things up. The new Rogue Hunter books, as an example, are venturing into previously unexplored territory for me and definitely caters to a mature crowd.

Unlike many authors, I've decided against using a pen name. One downside to this decision is that it risks confusing readers as to which books of mine might be safe for younger readers and which ones aren't. So from now on, I'll be using age appropriate ratings similar to those used by the film industry on this site to help readers decide which of my books is right for them.
I'll also be keeping a close eye on things to see if this makes any difference in the long run in making sure the right books make it into the hands of the right readers.
