Unfinished Business: New Books!
To my dear readers, I would like to thank you for your enduring support. I've got some unfinished business to take care of in the upcoming year, namely the publication of new books in my existing series. The sequel to The Legend of Witch Bane is still in the works. It's been years in the making. But I think it's a show stealer!
I have a very special announcement to make about the Rogue Hunter series. But I'm still in the process of ironing out some wrinkles. So I'll hold off on the announcement until I've got a few things confirmed. To the readers who have downloaded my new urban fantasy story Asha, your kind words and enthusiasm has been very moving. I wasn't sure how Asha would be received and was on the fence about publishing it. But the feedback I'm getting is inspiring. I am happy to announce that there will be more books on the way. The next book in the series will be a full-length novel that will expound upon the story told in Asha. I know you guys are chomping at the bit to read more of Asha's adventures. So if all goes as planned, I'll have it ready for the public by spring. Keep your fingers crossed! In the meantime, stay tuned for more news on other projects I am currently working on. |

What's the Big Deal With the New Books?
It's been more than a year since the last Rogue Hunter book was published. In that time, I've been working very hard at penning the new stories. Initially my goal was to attempt to complete the entire series before publishing the next book. But I realized very quickly that this would take a great deal of time to do and would probably end up alienating the readers who enjoyed the earlier books. Thus, my decision to publish the next book on New Year's Day.
So what's the big deal with the new Rogue Hunter books? Well, for starters, I've revamped the entire series. No small tweaks here and there. I mean a MAJOR revamp just shy of an actual reboot of the series. Trust me, it was no small task or easy decision to make. My vision of Rogue Hunter has changed drastically since the publication of Quest of the Hunter. The ups and downs I've faced of attracting readers to the series as well as the passing of time has had an enormous impact on how the new stories shaped themselves. In a nutshell, Rogue Hunter has grown up. The new books are edgier and grittier than their predecessors. My journey to take readers into Zyra's universe has uncovered a much darker and terrifying storyline than even I was aware of. The outlook of the story is more bleak and the danger far greater. Trust me folks. Zyra's got her work cut out for her. If she's going to save the universe, she's going to have to lay it all on the line. So far the feedback I've gotten from early readers on the new direction Rogue Hunter has taken has been extremely positive. I have no doubt that some people are not going to be happy with the changes since the gentler, milder version of Rogue Hunter they knew no longer exists. As the band members of Metallica used to say, 'the more people ignore us, the louder and faster we play.' Well, the new Rogue Hunter books are very loud and very fast now. Pop in your earplugs folks. Zyra Zanr is coming to your town and she's going to make lots of noise! |
September 8, 2011My Latest Release! |
So who am I...really?One of my all-time favorite lines in film history is in The Never Ending Story when the young hero Atreyu asks Gmork, the evil wolf sent forth by the Nothing to kill him: "Who are you, really?" The question many of you have is the same for me. Who am I...really? Well, for starters, I'm not a Martian, Klingon, Vorlon, or genetic offshoot of any other real or imagined extra-terrestrial race. Contrary to popular belief, I'm also not a Jedi Knight (maybe in my next life if I'm lucky!). What I am is an eccentric (maybe borderline crazy), heavy metal lovin', Tommy Lee outdrinkin', girl-hawkin', patriotic red-blooded American male with island roots and dreams of becoming the next George Lucas (Well, I can dream, can't I?). So if I'm so cool you ask, why no author photo? Two reasons. 1. I've gotten carried away with my online persona as the "Masked Author." 2. Trying to ride the anonymity train for as long as it goes. So when can you expect to see what I look like? To borrow the title of a popular UB-40 song, "I want to make you sweat"...well, at least for a little while longer!
